Close looking can help us see familiar things in a new way. The AAM welcomes the community to play and engage in Precious Okoyomon’s Every Earthly Morning the Sky’s Light touches Ur Life is Unprecedented in its Beauty, a combination of gardens, algae water, edible fruit and plant life, ceramic sculpture, and sound works.
Planned in collaboration with Bluegreen garden project manager Rio Crandall and designer Preston Linck, participants can choose from a variety of guided activities located throughout the installation, including painting, plant identification, and selecting flowers for your own bouquet.
Born in Paris, France and raised in Mali and Senegal, West Africa, Pascal Bokar had a chance growing up to hear the musical, harmonic, melodic, rhythmic, dance and spoken words traditions of West African music and culture that informed his heritage through the musical legacies of instruments such as the Ngoni (banjo) or balafon (ancestor of xylophone) which will later define the early cultural and musical foundations of the American South through the migrations of West Africans through the Atlantic Slave Trade (1550-1888).

Roaring Fork Valley artists are invited to join our Friday afternoon artist gathering for coffee and conversation with the 2021 AAM Artist Fellows.
Monthly AAM Artist Coffee sessions are our way of providing a little time and plenty of space to get together with AAM Educators and fellow guests to hear your perspectives on art, studio practice, and topics of interest. We’ll discuss what it means to be an artist, especially during this time of social change, as well as share ideas on art education and how to make it more accessible to our community.
We do what we do because artists make it possible. Please join us in helping shape the dialogue.
