Connect the dots between people, places, and history in this mixed-media workshop! Inspired by the work of Rashid Johnson and his interest in our changing relationship to places, we will make maps of our homes and the places we love through the use of many different materials.
Presented in collaboration with the Aspen Music Festival and School (AMFS), this free chamber concert series features one-hour performances by the most advanced AMFS students and visiting musicians in Aspen.

Jacqueline Humphries was born in New Orleans, in 1960, and lives and works in New York. Her paintings draw on various traditions of abstraction including gestural and geometric, hard-edge styles. Her work has been the subject of solo exhibitions at the Contemporary Arts Center of New Orleans, the Carnegie Museum of Art, Pittsburgh, and Kunsthalle Wilhelmshaven, Germany.

Set in the futuristic urban backdrop of “Verona Beach,” Romeo meets Juliet while crashing a costume party, and the two then grapple with their feuding families in order for their love—and their lives—to survive.

Art and writing go hand-in-hand in this “wordshop,” inspired by the mixed-media artwork of Rashid Johnson. Combine poetry with paint to create new and inspirational works of art that capture the spirit of your favorite vacation destinations!
New York, London, Japan, Aspen! Expand your skills, style, and friendships in this advanced workshop for teens. Students will be given the tools and materials needed to conceive and create haute-couture fashion, while stretching teen fashion trends found around the globe with classical garment construction. These unique fashions will be presented to friends and family at an end-of-week Fashion Show.
Taking inspiration from the Lebanese artist and poet, Etel Adnan, artists in this painting workshop will use brushstrokes to bring memories to life. Recollections of special places, both real and imagined, will appear as ink moves across paper, colors shape canvas, and words and images join together in unique folding books.
