Teen Council meetings happen every other Tuesday from August to May. Through this program led by AAM Educator, Elisabeth Strunk, local teenagers create and implement events for their peers. The Council follows the motto, “For teens, by teens,” to make the Aspen Art Museum a fun place for youth in the Roaring Fork Valley.
Teen Artists will meet with and learn from AAM staff, guest artists, and our creative community partners at Anderson Ranch. They will explore and build their art-making skills and present their work to the public in the spring.
Join the AAM and the Aspen Hope Center to find out how art can help us imagine a more hopeful future!
The AAM and the AHC copresent Art and Wellness, a live interactive Zoom session using an AAM-provided complimentary art kit to help improve well-being at home and offer a chance to connect with others.
We are delighted to offer you access to the Online Viewing Rooms for Art Basel: Pioneers, which will focus on artists who have broken new ground in their aesthetics, conceptual approach, sociopolitical themes, and mediums.
On Wednesday, March 24th, at 10 a.m. MST, AAM National Council member Mary Zlot will lead conversations with a group of exhibiting galleries selected by the AAM about their presentations.
Dive into the subconscious with artist Wewer Keohane’s Artful Dreaming. Today at 2:30 p.m. (MT), AAM Educator Vanessa Porras will lead you through a collage-making experience of a dream, a profound awake experience, or a poem to create a visual representation of it. Bring all of your arts and crafts, found materials, and photographs and join us in this unique art-making experience!
The Teen Curators program allows participants to gain insight into different styles of curatorial practice. In this brand-new iteration of what has become a signature AAM highlight for teens, each curator will design their own creative project with support from museum staff.

Inspired by Keohane’s work, join AAM Educator Vanessa Porras this Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. (MT) as she creates a symbol from her dreams and teaches you how to do the same!

Join us for a mobile story art training session on Zoom with Vanessa Porras where she will be teaching educators how to conduct an activity based around Alma y cómo obtuvo su nombre by Juana Martinez-Neal promoting self acceptance, independence, and fine motor skills! In this particular art activity, we explore themes of self-acceptance by creating a family tree using our hands and fingers.
Alma y cómo obtuvo su nombre by Juana Martinez-Neal is a story about a little girl who thinks her name is too long. Like many hispanic children, she carries the name of several ancestors.
