      Guided Tour

      Free, drop-in spotlight tours led by museum staff are offered every Wednesday and Saturday at 1 p.m.

    • This after-school program for kids in Grades K–4 is held most Wednesdays during the school year at the AAM. Museum Educators lead classes that include activities in the gallery and take-home projects.

      Story Art: Carbondale

      Story Art is a community outreach program presented in partnership with the Carbondale Branch Library and the Glenwood Springs Branch Library. This free program for elementary school students provides playful exploration of storytelling through a group reading and art-making activity inspired by AAM exhibitions.

      This two-day retreat for educators who teach K–12 level students in schools and nonprofit organizations will provide opportunities for creating, critiquing, and connecting through the lens of contemporary art. This event is hosted with Stacey Shelnut-Hendrick, Director of Education at Crocker Art Museum.

    • As the founding partner of Olson Kundig, Jim Olson has explored the aesthetic interplay of art, nature, and architecture, as well as the relationship between light and space, for over fifty years. Though best known for his houses designed for art collectors, he also designs museums, religious spaces, and commercial buildings. His recent work includes Kirkland Museum of Fine and Decorative Art in Denver and the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art at Washington State University.

    • Monthly drop-in Family Workshops at the AAM are designed to provide children and adults free opportunities to explore the galleries and create works of art on their own. Families are encouraged to communicate, reflect, and produce as artists together.
