    • Taking inspiration from the Lebanese artist and poet, Etel Adnan, artists in this painting workshop will use brushstrokes to bring memories to life. Recollections of special places, both real and imagined, will appear as ink moves across paper, colors shape canvas, and words and images join together in unique folding books.

    • New York, London, Japan, Aspen! Expand your skills, style, and friendships in this advanced workshop for teens. Students will be given the tools and materials needed to conceive and create haute-couture fashion, while stretching teen fashion trends found around the globe with classical garment construction. These unique fashions will be presented to friends and family at an end-of-week Fashion Show.

    • Art and writing go hand-in-hand in this “wordshop,” inspired by the mixed-media artwork of Rashid Johnson. Combine poetry with paint to create new and inspirational works of art that capture the spirit of your favorite vacation destinations!

    • Have you ever wondered what lies beyond the horizon? Or what the horizon looks like from an ant’s or a bird’s point of view? Participants go beyond traditional landscapes in this mixed-media workshop by looking at Aspen through new and exciting perspectives. We will create a world where big paper shapes and fabric collages come to life in a magical realm beyond where the earth meets the sky.

    • You won’t want to miss this art party! Young artists are invited to select a favorite exhibition from the AAM’s “collection” and create a series of new works in response. The week will culminate in a colorful group show celebrating the AAM’s past, present, and future. Artwork will be displayed as part of the twenty-four-hour celebration for everyone at the museum.

    • Taking cues from the flora and fauna around us, young artists will combine natural and human-made materials—such as faux fur, reflective surfaces, pinecones, and twigs—to create masks and costumes for pretend play and animated tales about life in the Rocky Mountains. Family and friends are invited to a performative art show at the end of the week!

    • Have you ever seen a sculpture that looks like a drawing? Or a drawing that looks like a sculpture? Now is your chance to bend dimensions with your art skills! Join us to make new and exciting artworks through the combination of 2-D and 3-D techniques.
