    • Experiment with size and scale in this outrageous workshop for young sculptors. From the minuscule to larger-than-life, students will build flamboyant structures using a variety of surprising materials. Each day’s sculpture will expand on the previous, resulting in a unique new body of work.

    • Boo hoo, only one hue? On the contrary! Find out how exciting painting with just one color can be. We’ll learn how to mix unlimited tints, tones, and shades, and experiment with value and the gray scale, too, using graphite and charcoal, creating a frenzy of visually cohesive and expressive monochromatic abstractions.

    • Calling all naturalists! Bird watching, animal tracking, and mapping in and around Hallam Lake will inspire new drawings, paintings, and environmentally friendly assemblages: artworks that reveal our favorite places and creatively interpret the places that people and animals call home.

Dinosaurs, troglodytes, and the Dodo may be extinct, but they are alive and vibrant in this imaginative workshop. Looking to the work of artist Yto Barrada for inspiration, we will create a colorful series of real and imagined flora and fauna, creating our own version of prehistoric life.

    • Capture one-of-a-kind images in this alternative photography workshop inspired by experimental twentieth-century and contemporary photographers. Over the session, we’ll build a pinhole camera, learn how to create photograms, and make prints using a darkroom enlarger.
