    • Sculpt, score, and glaze your own pots in this wild ceramics Workshop! Students will learn hand-building techniques for decorative and functional pieces. To show off our creations, we’ll plan a crazy tea party for our family and friends at the end of the week.

    • Take a trip to Utopia Island, a special place in the heart of Aspen where nature and imagination reign. Here, kids work together to make the world a better place using their creativity. From exploring natural surroundings to making recycled artworks to give to others, students will quickly learn that knowledge is power and the earth needs you!

    • Presented in collaboration with the Aspen Music Festival and School (AMFS), this free chamber concert series features one-hour performances by the most advanced AMFS students and visiting musicians in Aspen.

      Family Workshop

      Monthly drop-in Family Workshops at the AAM are designed to provide children and adults free opportunities to explore the galleries and create works of art on their own. Participants get to know one another better through engagement with exhibitions. Families are encouraged to communicate, reflect, and produce as artists together.

  • Aug 15, 2016

    • Experiment and explore the art of printmaking in this Gabriel Orozco–inspired Workshop! Taking note of the artist’s use of the everyday, students will create artworks that celebrate the magic in ordinary objects, while learning new and exciting techniques to help make their images a reality.

    • Discover the secrets of drawing, transforming blank pages into forms filled with life and energy. Exploring techniques of shadowing, perspective, and contour, our linear experiments will unlock the power of drawing to bring students’ imaginations to life. Students will respond to creative challenges in the gallery, studio, and outdoors that sharpen the power of drawing.
