After taking a trip to visit Shinique Smith’s installation Resonant Tides (2015) at Elk Camp in Snowmass, Workshop participants will have the chance to create their own mountain-inspired collaborative mural that will be presented at the Old Fashioned 4th of July Parade. Students will learn painting and drawing techniques that apply to artworks of all sizes. Participation in the 4th of July parade is strongly encouraged.

This free program offers senior citizens in the Roaring Fork Valley an informal drawing lesson and the opportunity to socialize over food and beverages at SO, the AAM’s Andrea and James Gordon Café.

Museum educators bring free, memory-enhancing activities to the assisted-living communities of Whitcomb Terrace in Aspen and Heritage Park in Carbondale. Physically independent seniors are invited for monthly gatherings at the Aspen Art Museum, where drawing activities and free food and refreshments are offered at SO, the Andrea and James Gordon café.
Free, drop-in spotlight tours led by museum staff are offered every Wednesday and Saturday at 1 p.m.
Join us on Thursday, June 30th, at 6 p.m., for an opening reception for AAM’s summer exhibitions, Alan Shields: Protracted Simplicity (1966-1985), John Outterbridge: Rag Man, and The Revolution Will Not Be Gray. There is a 5 p.m. members’ walkthrough with AAM Nancy and Bob Magoon CEO and Director Heidi Zuckerman.
