Did you know that art can help us imagine a more hopeful future?
The AAM and the Aspen Hope Center co-present Art and Wellness,
an online activity to be accomplished using a complimentary art kit provided by the AAM to help improve your well-being at home and connect you with others in the community.
The Aspen Hope Center provides an array of services to navigate the mental health system in Aspen, Eagle, and Garfield Counties, including a 24-hour confidential Hopeline, crisis intervention, counseling, community education, collaboration, and school-based services and programs.
Begin your Art and Wellness experience by following these steps:
1. Order your free Art Kit here
2. Join Jeanette Bullock, MS, ATR and Aspen Hope Center school-based art therapist, virtually for four audio sessions embedded below to illuminate new possibilities.
3. Create artwork and share it with others via the AAM Instagram account @aspenartmuseum.
We recommend setting aside a full hour for this experience.
You will be using your art kits in Parts 1 and 3.
The project can be done individually or collaboratively with the people in your household.
Part 1: In this audio recording, Jeanette will guide an exploration of the materials in the art kit.
In this audio recording, Jeanette presents simple breath and muscle relaxation exercises.
A guided visualization
In Part 4, you’ll be asked to reflect on the guided visualization in Part 3 to create an artwork based on the experience using materials provided in the art kit.
