Aspen Art Museum

Encounter the museum in unexpected ways through experimental opportunities and performances for the culturally adventurous.

The Whole Celebration
Saturday, August 10, 5 PM–Sunday, August 11, 5 PM

As a throwback to the twenty-four-hour opening of the new AAM building five years ago in 2014, this anniversary party will follow the same ambitious schedule, also celebrating forty years that the museum has been open to the public. In this jam-packed program for the culturally ambitious and festively inclined, a wide range of offerings will explore the integral power of art to make us whole, sometimes beyond reason. The schedule will include the following:

  1. Artist Talk: Richard Tuttle
  2. Press Play Workshop for Adults
  3. Self-guided Tours Based on Your Zodiac Sign
  4. Dance Party with DJ April Hunt
  5. Tailored Scent Commission by the Institute for Art and Olfaction
  6. Lullaby Presentation of Susan Philipsz’s From the Beginning (2007)
  7. Midnight Movies at the Museum Screening
  8. Sleepover
  9. Insomniac Corner Featuring Bill Viola’s Video Game, The Night Journey (2007–18)
  10. Sunrise Yoga
  11. Brunch
  12. Temporary Tattoos Featuring AAM Artwork
  13. Fireside Oral Histories
  14. Architecture Lecture: Shigeru Ban
  15. Family Art Making

And more! Stay tuned to for more details.
