Julia Warhola was not only the mother of a world-famous artist, she was also an artist in her own right. Her beautiful line drawing and penmanship was a source of inspiration and collaboration for Andy throughout his life. Julia has also been recognized by the American Institute for Graphic Arts for the album cover for “The Story of Moondog,” which featured her unique handwriting. Come try your hand at calligraphy in The Factory this Saturday. Instruction will be given on how to use calligraphy pens and how to write in the traditional Gothic Blackletter. You will also have the opportunity to design a bookmark in the style we learned or use a style that is unique to you!
