      The Aspen Art Museum and Aspen Center for Environmental Studies are excited to announce their collaborative Summer Workshops for kids entering Kindergarten in Fall 2022! We will be offering four workshops during the month of July, centered around all things nature and art.

    • Presented in collaboration with the Aspen Music Festival and School (AMFS), this free and inclusive chamber concert series features one-hour performances by the most advanced AMFS students and visiting musicians in Aspen.

    • This workshop explores the idea of remapping using existing geographic maps of Aspen’s surrounding mountains.

      Artist libi rose striegl shares a friendly introduction to the world of high-tech repair and re-use. Participants are invited to dismantle broken electronics for an exploratory dissection of their inner workings while discussing the world of Right To Repair, the importance of re-use, and the environmental challenges of our techno-world.

      Join artists Brad Gallagher and Sasha de Koninick for a greenscreen wearable interactive and participatory performance piece which invites viewers to “wear the museum.” Using handmade textiles and video from the Mountain / Time exhibition, images will be chroma keyed in real-time onto the green spaces of the textiles allowing participants to see themselves on a screen with the videos on their body.

    • In this workshop, we will experiment with acrylic mediums to create colorful translucent landscapes inspired by Gaetano Pesce’s use of inventive nontraditional materials.
