Ian Wilson

In 1968, artist Ian Wilson made his last ever sculpture. Preferring instead to work within the framework of spoken language, Wilson believes that art does not need to be restricted to the visual. Making things simply through speaking, Wilson has explained, “I am interested in the shape of ideas as they are expressed, spontaneously, at the moment itself. By concentrating on spoken language as an art form I have become more distinctly aware that I as an artist am a part of the world.”
