Colorado Mineralogy

Aug 9, 2014-Oct 5, 2014
Colorado Mineralogy is an aesthetic display of locally occurring minerals from Aspen and the state of Colorado that reference our diverse geological history. The ninety specimens represent sixty different minerals and range in appearance from peculiar to extraordinary. In contrast to the global perspective of Shigeru Ban’s humanitarian architecture, Colorado Mineralogy offers an intimate view of our region, where the historical mining of elements has been replaced by the mining of ideas.
All new Aspen Art Museum inaugural exhibitions are generously underwritten by Stefan Edlis and Gael Neeson. Indirect exhibition costs are funded in part by the AAM National Council.
