Sarah Cain

Nov 24, 2017-Sep 30, 2018
Los Angeles–based painter Sarah Cain’s large-scale, site-responsive installation at Elk Camp on Snowmass Mountain for the 2017–18 ski season marks the twelfth-consecutive year of the AAM’s Art in Unexpected Places partnership with Aspen Skiing Company. Cain’s playful, abstract installations feature a bold use of color, improvisation, and a variety of perspectives. Within her lyrical, energetic compositions, she incorporates found objects and recycled materials, transformed using the language of sculpture.

AAM exhibitions are made possible by the Marx Exhibition Fund. General exhibition support is provided by the Toby Devan Lewis Visiting Artist Fund.

Sarah Cain’s exhibition is commissioned by the Aspen Art Museum in collaboration with the Aspen Skiing Company.
