How To… Create a More Equitable Art World with Ebony L. Haynes

Feb 25, 2021
9:00 AM
I’m delighted to invite you to our next “How To…” session, in which we will talk to Ebony L. Haynes, a writer and curator from Toronto whose focus is on helping to remedy the lack of Black decision-makers in the commercial art world.

Haynes recently joined David Zwirner Gallery as a director, and will launch and lead a brand new arm of the business. She will create a new exhibition program and commercial gallery space that will be run by all-Black staff. The program will feature artists from different backgrounds across four annual exhibitions, each accompanied by a publication. The goal is to foster a new generation of arts professionals who, ultimately, will become art world leaders.

“How To…” is a series of conversations with art world insiders moderated by Charlotte Burns and produced exclusively for AAM members. Charlotte is a journalist and podcast host who created and ran the leading show “In Other Words” for Art Agency Partners at Sotheby’s. Together we are creating unique digital content for you, starting with a range of interviews where we will gain insight into various topics directly from the experts. Enjoy full access to How To… programming when you join the museum at the Director’s Circle level membership and up!
