Mandala Sand Painting:
Opening Ceremony

From July 11–15, Tibetan Buddhist monks from Drepung Loseling Monastery will construct a temporary mandala sand painting on Level 3 of the Aspen Art Museum as part of their annual visit to Aspen. Visitors are invited to watch the creation of this temporal artwork during regular museum hours. Please join us for the Opening Ceremony, which is free and open to the public.
AAM education programs are made possible by the Questrom Education Fund. Support for the Drepung Loseling Monastery’s mandala sand painting is provided by the Aspen Center for Living Peace, the Aspen Chapel, and the Lexie and Robert Potamkin Family.
