      Artist Coffee is an informal gathering of artists from the local community to connect with the museum and each other, to exchange ideas, and discuss the role of art and the artist in the current moment. A group of 8-10 artists signs up to attend a 1 ½ hour session with refreshments in the cafe.

      Member Workshop

      Family members are invited to join us on our roofdeck at the AAM for an art-making experience for all! Inspired by the mountain view from the rooftop, participants will be creating mixed media mountain collages together.

      Art in the Outdoors

      Provides people of all ages with the opportunity to take art outside the museum walls. Led by museum educators and special guests, each session aims to spark creativity and wonder through activities in and around Aspen. Participants can pre order and pick up a Brown Bag Lunch at So Cafe’. More information and registration coming soon.

      Summer Workshops

      PreK children (ages 4 – 5 years) are invited to join us at the AAM for a week of creating art and making music! The AAM and Aspen Music Festival and School will be collaborating to provide kids with the chance to make their own instruments and design their own performance for a celebration at the end of the week.

      DisAbility Film Festival

      DisAbility Film Festival
      An in person film festival presented in partnership with Western Colorado University’s Communication Arts/Film and Education Departments.

      Opening remarks will be presented by Dr. Tara Mason, Assistant Professor of Inclusive Education, and Jack Lucido, Professor of Communication Arts, Director of Film Studies and Chair of CALL Department.

      About the DisAbility Film Festival:
      Our mission is to raise awareness of the triumphs within inclusive education. We believe there are issues related to social justice & lack of educational opportunity for students served in special education. We want to explore creative pedagogy that serves students within inclusive classroom environments using film as a launchpad for discussion, advocacy and change in special education.

      The AAM welcomes the community to participate in an art-making workshop hosted on Level 3! Planned in collaboration with the museum’s Access Community Advisory Council, we will be creating artwork together inspired by the natural environment of the Roaring Fork Valley.
