    • Join us at 2:30 p.m. (MT) on Instagram Live and meet featured local artist Ali O’Neal. Ali is a screen printer, designer, seamstress, and founder of the brand, Thimble Fox. She uses her work in serigraphy and textiles as a platform for social and political commentary to educate about the inequities of the textile fast fashion industry.

      The Teen Curators program allows participants to gain insight into different styles of curatorial practice. In this brand-new iteration of what has become a signature AAM highlight for teens, each curator will design their own creative project with support from museum staff.

ASL’s featured artist, Ali O’Neal, believes that “fast fashion overlooks unethical environmental and social inequities… where and how we spend our money is a vote for the world we want to live in. Life is not always fair, but fabric certainly can be.” Join AAM Educator, Vanessa Porras, at 2:30 p.m. (MT) to learn fun ways to upcycle your clothing by designing your own patches with an easy screen printing technique!

    • One of the best things about screen printing is seeing your design come to life by adding various colors. Inspired by this month’s guest artist Ali O’Neal’s most recent line for the Green is the New Black Fashion Show, we’ll be playing with some lilacs and lime green colors. Join AAM Educator, Vanessa Porras, at 2:30 p.m. (MT), as we continue to work on old textiles to convert them into new and vibrant clothing patches.

Find out how his own business building a mezcal brand led to him becoming an artist now specializing in linocut.

José inició su carrera como periodista, pero poco después se aventuró en un proyecto fotográfico para grabar la contaminación cultural en la Selva Lacandona y su vida cambió para siempre. Descubre cómo su negocio en el mezcal lo llevó a convertirse en un artista especializado en linóleo.

Join AAM Educator Vanessa Porras today at 2:30 p.m. (MT) on instagram to learn about basic drawing techniques, line work, and pattern. Inspired by our June guest artist José Lopez’s work with agave plants, you’ll experiment by drawing different cacti and succulents.
