    • This after-school program for kids in Grades K–4 is held most Wednesdays during the school year at the AAM. Museum educators lead classes that include activities in the gallery and take-home projects.

      Classes are limited to fifteen participants. Prior registration strongly encouraged.

    • A shy student trying to reach his family in Ohio, a gun-toting tough guy trying to find the last Twinkie, and a pair of sisters trying to get to an amusement park join forces to travel across a zombie-filled America.

    • 11 AM Experience

      Wikipedia Edit-a-Thon

      Join museums and universities across the country to edit, enhance, and add Wikipedia entries on female figures in the art world. Bring your laptop to Level 3 and receive tutorials from museum staff on the editorial process. Childcare and refreshments will be provided in this free, community-organized event that is presented in association with Art+Feminism’s international campaign to make Wikipedia more gender balanced.

      Community Winter Warm-Up

      All ages are invited to warm up this winter with art and nature at ACES’ Hallam Lake. Enjoy a naturalist-guided outdoor adventure and cozy up indoors at hand-makery station inspired by contemporary artist Margaret Kilgallen. Complimentary cookies, hot cocoa, and cider provided.

      Arte en Español

      Drawing on the wealth of Spanish speakers in the Roaring Fork Valley, the museum presents an afternoon of activities for all ages, entirely in Spanish. Featuring guided tours, family art-making activities, and more, this special event is free and open to the public en Español.

    • Making sure art and creativity are at the heart of your child’s development, this free drop-in program for 0–5 year-olds and their caregivers explores fun ways to interact through art.

    • Story Art is a community outreach program presented in partnership with the Carbondale Branch Library and the Glenwood Springs Branch Library. This free program for elementary and middle school students provides playful exploration of storytelling through a group reading and art-making activity inspired by AAM exhibitions.
