      Active Art: Heritage Park

      Active Art invites seniors to engage in the social dimensions of art. Each month, museum Educators bring free, memory-enhancing activities to the assisted living communities of Whitcomb Terrace in Aspen and Heritage Park in Carbondale.

    • 1 PM Tour

      Guided Tour

      Free, drop-in spotlight tours led by museum staff are offered every Wednesday and Saturday at 1 p.m.

    • This after-school program for kids in Grades K–4 is held most Wednesdays during the school year at the AAM. Museum educators lead classes that include activities in the gallery and take-home projects.

      Classes are limited to fifteen participants. Prior registration strongly encouraged.

    • Louise Banks (Amy Adams) is a linguist who is brought onto a special military operation to communicate with aliens who have suddenly arrived at various locations on Earth. As mankind teeters on the verge of global war, Banks and her team race against time to find a way to communicate with the unknown visitors.

    • Artists in the Making offers middle school students the opportunity to develop specialized skills driven by self-innovation. A museum Educator works with each student to create a uniquely tailored experience that concludes with a celebratory showcase for friends and family.

      Active Art invites seniors to engage in the social dimensions of art. Each month, museum Educators bring free, memory-enhancing activities to the assisted-living communities of Whitcomb Terrace in Aspen and Heritage Park in Carbondale, and also host art making on the museum’s Roof Deck Sculpture Garden with complimentary refreshments.

    • To mark the final closing of the exhibition Ritual, join Alya Howe and the Aspen Poets’ Society for an evening of poetry readings. Poets across Colorado have been convened to share their work, and participants will be invited to plant seeds about what we want to grow and cultivate in our lives. Featured poets include Meta Sarmiento, Uche Ogbuji, Art Goodtimes, along with Eleanore Scott, Halle Zander, and Stefano Da Fre.
