    Fashion Forward
    Summer Workshop (Ages 9-11)FULL
    July 23–27, 9 AM–3 PM

    Become an eco-friendly designer! Students will be encouraged to dive into the future needs of fashion by creating a variety of sustainable fabrics, repurposing while developing the sewing skills necessary to create cool couture. We’ll wear and share our finished projects at a fashion show at the end of the week!

    Nests and Nooks
    Summer Workshop (Ages 4–5)
    July 23–27, 9 AM–3 PM

    Building is for the birds in this hands-on workshop where we will design and build take-home habitats out of natural and found materials for feathered friends. These unique sculptures will be both practical and beautiful homes for outdoor creatures!

    Music with a View: Center for Advanced Quartet Studies

    Presented in collaboration with the Aspen Music Festival and School (AMFS), this free chamber concert series features one-hour performances by the most advanced AMFS students and visiting musicians in Aspen.

    Movies at the Museum: The NeverEnding Story (1984)

    On his way to school, Bastian ducks into a bookstore to avoid bullies and finds a book called The Neverending Story. As the fantastical story unfolds, Bastian reads a description of himself in the book and realizes he must enter the book in order to save the magic kingdom of Fantasia.

    Conversations with Artists: Hans Ulrich Obrist & Heidi Zuckerman

    How do interviews reveal truth? What questions make artists open up? In this public dialogue, a conversation between Serpentine Galleries Artistic Director, Hans Ulrich Obrist, and AAM Nancy and Bob Magoon CEO and Director, Heidi Zuckerman, will reveal reflections on the journey that unfolds in her new book Conversations with Artists, which features more than thirty prominent contemporary artists in personal, illuminating conversations.

    Artist Talk: Abraham Cruzvillegas

    Abraham Cruzvillegas was born in Mexico City, in 1968, where he continues to live and work. Since 2007, he has created a body of sculptures and installations that investigate what he calls autoconstrucción (“self-construction”), working with found materials and assemblage in reference to everyday practices also found in urban landscapes. His work has been the subject of solo exhibitions at the Centre for Contemporary Arts, Glasgow, CCA Wattis Institute for Contemporary Arts, San Francisco, the Walker Art Center, Minneapolis, Haus der Kunst, Munich, Museo Amparo, Puebla, Mexico, Museo de Arte de Lima, Peru, Tate Modern, London, Carré d’Art - musée d’art contemporain de Nîmes, France, Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, Rotterdam, and Kunsthaus Zürich.

    Summer Workshop (Ages 4–5)

    Many heads are better than one in this highly collaborative workshop where kids will problem solve and build temporary site-responsive artworks for public use. Documentation of our process will be shared with family and friends at the end of the week.

    Fashion for Real
    Summer Workshop (Ages 12–14)
    July 30–August 2, 9 AM–3 PM

    Expand your skills and style in this advanced workshop for teens. Students will be given the tools and materials needed to conceive and create couture fashion, while stretching current trends using technology with classical garment construction. These unique fashions will be presented to friends and family at an end-of-the-week Fashion Show.
