    • Make your directorial debut in this workshop designed for artists with a deep passion for storytelling. Hone your unique vision through storyboarding, character creation, and set design. Bring everything to life using a variety of animation techniques that will be shared in a special screening for family and friends at the end of the week.

    • Make-believe in this drawing and painting workshop where young artists will magically transform into the bugs and birds that live by the shores of Hallam Lake. After discovering the natural world through these new perspectives (and costumes), artists will respond by creating new artworks in all shapes, colors, and sizes.

    • Design and build for a better world in this collaborative project-based workshop with a special focus on fort and furniture design. We’ll work to create both an educational tool and comfy space for local preschool clients, using colorful textiles, soft fabrics, and forms. Teens will unveil their design solutions at an art show for friends and family at the end of the week.

    • A preference for pattern is needed in this workshop! We’ll mix, match, print, and patch to create a visual explosion of two- and three-dimensional artworks that can be worn or displayed. The workshop will conclude with a celebration of our creations for family and friends.

    • Hallam Lake is the perfect location to reflect on our personal and collective rituals. Young Darwins will observe and record daily experiences in the form of collecting, writing, photographing, and mapping, creating a diverse visual diary of how we connect to ourselves and the world.
