    Novelty salesman Barry Egan finds promise in his dismal life after being introduced to the mysterious Lena, but is threatened when a crooked mattress salesman enters the picture. The film features fantastic abstract visual effects created by artist Jeremy Blake.

    Family Workshop: Behind the Book with Steve Jenkins

    This workshop invites all ages to meet Steve Jenkins, author/illustrator of Creature Features and Apex Predators, as he provides a presentation of his studio process, a reading and signing of his books, and hands-on art making led by the artist and an AAM Educator. This free program encourages budding youth and adult bookmakers alike to explore storytelling.

    Fashion Forward
    Summer Workshop (Ages 9–11):
    July 17–21 | 9 AM–3 PM

    Be a trendsetter! This fashion Workshop will develop skills needed to create a unique line of custom looks. With an emphasis on the idea of “popular opposites,” we will create fashion illustrations, a portfolio of new designs, and ready-to-wear pieces using a variety of sewing techniques and materials. At the end of the week, we will share these creations at a special fashion show for family and friends.

    Teen Design Challenge
    Summer Workshop (Ages 12–14):
    July 17–21 | 9 AM–3 PM

    Dream big in this open-ended, project-based Workshop for teens interested in designing and building for a better world. Using architecture and design as a framework for personal and group explorations in creative problem solving, we will respond to real life issues with the creation of innovative prototypes and artworks using a variety of traditional and nontraditional materials. Teens will unveil their design solutions at an art show for friends and family at the end of the week.

    Presented in collaboration with the Aspen Music Festival and School (AMFS), this free chamber concert series features one-hour performances by the most advanced AMFS students and visiting musicians in Aspen.

    Artist Talk: Glenn Ligon

    Glenn Ligon was born in New York in 1960, where he continues to live and work. Throughout his career, he has pursued critical perspectives of American history and its social, cultural, and political relations. He has been the subject of solo museum exhibitions at Camden Arts Center, London, the Power Plant, Toronto, Walker Art Center, Minneapolis, the Studio Museum in Harlem, Institute of Contemporary Art, Philadelphia, and the Kunstverein München, Munich.

    Hide and Go Seek
    Summer Workshop (Ages 4–5):
    July 24–28 | 9 AM–3 PM

    Ready or not, here we come! In this tactile Workshop, we will cut, sew, and assemble colorful animal masks and costumes with an array of soft materials and found objects. Making unique disguises will only be half the fun. We’ll celebrate with a performance in costume for our friends and family at the end of the week.
