    • These community workshops provide playful art exploration for young audiences with their parents or caregivers. The Levels 0–2 and 3–5 Years are offered free of charge on a first come, first serve basis.

    • Active Art invites seniors to engage in the social dimensions of art. Museum educators bring free, memory-enhancing activities to the assisted living community of Heritage Park Care Center in Carbondale.

      AAM education programs are made possible by the Questrom Education Fund.

      Story Art is a community outreach program that provides playful exploration of storytelling for young audiences with their parents or caregivers. This free community program builds visual literacy and art appreciation in the Carbondale Branch Library.

      Guided Tour

      Free, drop-in spotlight tours led by museum staff are offered every Wednesday and Saturday at 1 p.m.

    • This after-school program for kids in Grades K–4 is held most Wednesdays during the school year at the AAM. Museum educators lead classes that include activities in the gallery and take-home projects.

      Limited class size; prior registration strongly encouraged.

      Story Art: Basalt

      Story Art is a community outreach program that provides playful exploration of storytelling for young audiences with their parents or caregivers. This free community program builds visual literacy and art appreciation in the Basalt Regional Library.

    • Daniel Baumann is the Director of Kunsthalle Zurich, and has served as the curator of the Adolf Wölfli Foundation at the Kunstmuseum Bern, Switzerland, co-curator of the Carnegie International, and cofounder of the Basel exhibition space New Jersey. Baumann is the AAM’s 2017 Curator in Residence.

      Active Art invites seniors to engage in the social dimensions of art. This free program offers senior citizens in the Roaring Fork Valley an informal drawing lesson and the opportunity to socialize over food and beverages at SO, the AAM’s Andrea and James Gordon Café.

      Family Workshop

      Drop-in Family Workshops at the AAM are designed to provide children and adults free opportunities to explore contemporary art and create works of art on their own. Families are encouraged to communicate, reflect, and produce as artists together.
