    • This after-school program for kids in Grades K–4 is held most Wednesdays during the school year at the AAM. Museum educators lead classes that include activities in the gallery and take-home projects.

      Limited class size; prior registration strongly encouraged.

    • In this three-part course, confront the “I don’t get it” often experienced in contemporary art. Participants will unpack topics of humor and absurdity, ultimately building a skill set of observational tools, critical vocabulary, and a greater confidence in navigating contemporary art. Each session is led by a different speaker, beginning with guest lecturer Heather Pesanti, Senior Curator at the Contemporary Austin.

      Story Art: Basalt

      Story Art is a community outreach program that provides playful exploration of storytelling for young audiences with their parents or caregivers. This free community program builds visual literacy and art appreciation in the Basalt Regional Library.

      Active Art invites seniors to engage in the social dimensions of art. This free program offers senior citizens in the Roaring Fork Valley an informal drawing lesson and the opportunity to socialize over food and beverages at SO, the AAM’s Andrea and James Gordon Café.
