      Free, drop-in spotlight tours led by museum staff are offered every Wednesday and Saturday at 1 p.m.

    • Join us for a New Year’s Eve celebration at the Aspen Art Museum with fine wine, excellent food, art activities for the whole family, and the best view of the fireworks in Aspen.

    • These community workshops provide playful art exploration for young audiences with their parents or caregivers. The Levels 0–2 and 3–5 Years are offered free of charge on a first come, first serve basis.

    • Active Art invites seniors to engage in the social dimensions of art. Museum educators bring free, memory-enhancing activities to the assisted living communities of Whitcomb Terrace in Aspen and Heritage Park in Carbondale. Physically independent seniors are invited for monthly gatherings at the Aspen Art Museum, where drawing activities and complimentary refreshments are offered at SO, the Andrea and James Gordon café.

      Story Art: Carbondale

      Story Art is a community outreach program that provides playful exploration of storytelling for young audiences with their parents or caregivers. This free community program builds visual literacy and art appreciation in the Basalt Regional Library and Carbondale Branch Library.

      Guided Tour

      Free, drop-in spotlight tours led by museum staff are offered every Wednesday and Saturday at 1 p.m.

    • This after-school program for kids in Grades K–4 is held most Wednesdays during the school year at the AAM. Museum educators lead classes that include activities in the gallery and take-home projects.

      Limited class size; prior registration strongly encouraged.

    • In this all-ages exploration of poetry led in collaboration with the Aspen Poets’ Society, participants will receive a hands-on demonstration of how to write ekphrasis poetry, a writing exercise dating back to Ancient Greece in which words are crafted to respond to objects. This interactive event will take place amongst the artworks of Ceal Floyer’s exhibition. Following the workshop, performance poets Kim Nuzzo and Valerie Haugen will bring to life the newly formed poems in response to Floyer’s work through a lively set of performances.
