    • Create unique three-dimensional forms in all shapes and sizes! By starting with everyday found objects as the base, participants will carefully disguise each object with a tactile shell made from wrappings of colorful yarn and cloth. These new sculptures will be unveiled for friends and family at an art show at the end of the week.

    • Who inspires you? How do you capture identity through art? In this Workshop, we’ll explore the dynamic art of portrait photography by looking at Mickalene Thomas’s powerful images of friends and muses. Students will learn composition and staging techniques, as well as the importance of narrative and storytelling when setting a scene.

    • Design your own series of soft sculptures using your favorite colors and fabrics in this tactile Workshop inspired by Judith Scott. Starting with a no-sew approach, students will develop handy skills to create an assortment of new plushy objects and friends. Also, acquiring sewing skills will further encourage students to explore combinations of color and pattern.

    • Uncover the treasures of creative experimentation! Taking inspiration from Liz Larner’s mixed media works, participants will explore an array of materials and techniques to create one-of-a-kind multimedia and dynamic ceramic pieces over the course of the Workshop.

    • What do kids and water have in common? Find out in this wet and wild Workshop where splishing, splashing, science, and art coexist on the shores of Hallam Lake. Each day, participants will record their scientific discoveries using water-based paints and an array of techniques such as washes, drips, dyes, and resists. Celebrate the journey with friends and family at the end-of-the-week art show and all-camp performance.
