    • Adam Pendleton is a conceptual artist known for his multidisciplinary practice. His work centers on an engagement with language and the recontextualization of history. The artist’s work has been exhibited internationally, including the Whitney Museum of American Art, MoMA PS1, the New Museum, New York; the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago; Serpentine Galleries, Whitechapel Gallery, London; and Kunstverein, Amsterdam. Pendleton was educated at the Artspace Independent Study Program in Pietrasanta, Italy, and lives and works in New York.

      Active Art

      Active Art is a monthly program that provides older adults in the Roaring Fork Valley seasonal opportunities to access and engage with contemporary art and the wider community through art appreciation classes, museum tours, art-making activities, and collaborations.

    • Following four teenagers on their last summer night before college, American Graffiti is a nostalgic study of the cruising and rock and roll cultures of the 1960s. Told through a series of vignettes, this early George Lucas film captures the defining moments of not only a nation, but also fleeting adolescence.

    • What would you paint if you knew the whole world would see it? Inspired by the ten motivational instructions given by Peter Fischli and David Weiss in the public artwork How to Work Better, kids will create larger than life works outside. We will explore good guidelines for having fun together and how to bring out our inner artists!

    • For those who are ready to jump right in, this Workshop will immerse you fully into the playful side of creativity. Through spirited visits to artworks on view at the AAM and collaborative, hands-on activities, we’ll work up the momentum to create a public artwork to share with friends and families—and make new friends along the way!

Presented in collaboration with the Aspen Music Festival and School (AMFS), this free chamber concert series takes place this summer in the Roof Deck Sculpture Garden, featuring one-hour performances by the most advanced AMFS students and visiting musicians in Aspen.
