5–6 PM: Debate

The Great Debate is a public program inviting elevated, engaged conversations around questions that unpack our opinions around art and beyond. Following the centuries-old format of the Oxford Union, the proposition “Are Facts Fundamental to Truth?” will be debated by four luminaries—two for and two against. Once the speakers have put forth their arguments, the discussion will open up to the audience for deliberation and a final vote.

6:30–8:30 PM: Film Screening of All the President’s Men (1976)

Presented in partnership with Aspen Public Radio and Aspen Film, this event will also include a screening of All the President’s Men (1976), the classic film of journalistic fortitude set against the backdrop of the Watergate scandal. Complimentary refreshments will be provided.
